The anticipated hiring range for this position is $65,000.00 to $75,000.00. Hiring offers will be determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. POSITION SUMMARY

The Culinary Institute of America is looking for a creative, technically skilled Video Producer to lead the creation of video content that drives engagement, enrollment, and brand storytelling across all digital channels. From high-impact event coverage and documentary-style campus features to short-form social content and student-life spotlights, this role is at the core of our multimedia storytelling strategy. You’ll manage the full production process from concept through shooting and producing, to delivery across multiple platforms including the CIA’s web site, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other emerging platforms. You’ll also lead the development of a high-performing digital video asset library, oversee video facilities on campus, and mentor student creators and freelance teams. We’re looking for someone who understands the pace of content today: platform-specific formats, smart reuse of footage across campaigns, and how to leverage DaVinci Resolve and AI-powered tools (for editing, captioning, asset management, and content versioning) to move fast without compromising quality.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages overall video programming for the institute across digital and social media distribution channels which include planning, scripting and storyboarding, budgeting, pre-production, production, and post-production. Produces, shoots and edits video for a range of external and internal marketing projects. This includes scheduling shoots with chefs, professors, and administration. Responsible for organization, cataloguing and maintenance of the CIA’s video library, and video archive assets. This includes digitizing older analog assets. Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upgrades to the Hyde Park video production facilities, including editing bays, production studios, assisting with all general video production in these areas as well as coordinating repairs, equipment replacement, and upgrades. Manages freelance video resources and student workers when needed. Performs performance evaluations of direct reports and supports them with performance management and professional development guidance. Stays abreast of current technology and delivery formats across all mediums. Any and all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree with a preferred concentration in film & video, broadcasting, and/or cinematography or significant experience in developing, producing and editing video in a corporate or agency environment. Experience: Three years of formal experience in developing, producing, and editing video in a corporate or agency environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience shooting a wide range of subjects, including active classroom kitchens, food ingredients, plated food, people, events, exterior landscapes, and buildings. Experience shooting both documentary style footage, as well as narrative driven footage. Higher Education experience preferred. Corporate experience in a multi-unit environment. Experience in managing reports and freelancers. Graphic animation and typography experience a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to storyboard and translate a creative vision into a presentable document. Ability to translate specific marketing team ideas into high quality audio/video and keep them involved in the development process. Command of current cameras and related video equipment and editing programs. Strong understanding of the current digital and social media video environment across YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram and other emerging platforms. An eye for composition and lighting techniques (both indoor and outdoor). Ability to effectively provide art direction to subjects, customers, and freelance videographers. Current command of relevant programs, including DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and cross-platform (Mac and PC) dynamics. Ability to deliver clear, cohesive messages through video. Strong interpersonal skills, organization skills, with the ability to successfully juggle multiple assignments simultaneously. Strong problem-solving and conceptual skills. Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation. Work requires continual attention to detail, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines. Ability to work with confidential material and/or high-ranking individuals in the public eye.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to maneuver around campus to shoot in various situations such as climbing ladders, shooting from a cherry picker, tight quarters, and hot kitchens, etc. Ability to withstand outside temps and various weather conditions. Must be available to work nights and weekends as required due to business needs. Able to travel periodically due to business needs.
