Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with critical care and pediatric experience for a day shift assignment in a Level II trauma setting.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the PACU unit of a Level II trauma hospital
• Patient population includes adult and pediatric surgical cases except open heart procedures
• Recover patients from Plastic, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgeries
• Experience with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines required
• Day shifts (5x8 hours) from 12:00 to 20:30
• Call is required
• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op
• Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience preferred
• Responsible for postoperative monitoring and care of patients following surgery
• Must be comfortable recovering both adult and pediatric patients across multiple specialties
• Holiday coverage may be expected
• On-site drug screening required prior to start
• Pending RN license will be considered but must be active by assignment start date
• Time off requests must be submitted for consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU or relevant surgical recovery experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric and critical care patients strongly preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
