The Longboard [St. John] is a Caribbean-inspired coastal kitchen, focusing on fresh, local ingredients. We offer light and healthy fare and creative cocktails inspired by coastal regions around the globe. The Longboard celebrates the adventurous yet laid back ocean lifestyle of the islands, embracing St. Johns tropical setting, local flavors, and relaxed island mentality.

The ideal candidate is a practiced problem solver, maintains a calm demeanor under pressure, persists to get the job done, and enjoys working alongside a large team to improve performance and increase retention.We are looking for dynamic server assistants who are self-motivated, dedicated, and have a strong passion for food and beverage! RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, efficient, energetic and thoughtful service at all times.
  • Support service team with ongoing table and floor maintenance, including, but not limited to: water service, clearing and cleaning tables and resetting tables with proper tableware.
  • Respond appropriately to any guest requests or issues by communicating effectively with the proper server or management.
  • Assist in the cleaning and polishing of all tableware.
  • Uphold Ballast Hospitalitys standards of quality service.
  • Receive instructions from multiple sources and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure the satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service.
  • Have the ability to recite basic menu knowledge and run food to tables if needed.
  • Stock, organize and prepare service-related items.
  • Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history.
  • Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels.
  • Adhere to grooming and dress code standards.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative attitude.
  • Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback.
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.
