Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Graymont, IL 61743
Pay Rate: $40.00 $45.00 per hour

Description:

Our K8 school district in Graymont, IL is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The district serves approximately 50 students, with ten students receiving support through an IEP, 504, or RtI plan. This position is supported by 2.5 aides and requires a teacher who is not only skilled in providing specialized instruction but also capable of serving as the case manager within the building.

Responsibilities:

• Provide small-group and individualized instruction aligned with IEP, 504, and RtI plans.

• Deliver targeted interventions, including:

  • 1015 minutes of math reteach support.

  • 2030 minutes of reading instruction, often utilizing Wilson Reading.

• Manage and oversee student case files, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and parents to support student learning.

• Implement evidence-based instructional practices, including 6-Minute Solutions and Wilson Reading, to reinforce literacy skills.

• Supervise and collaborate with 2.5 aides to effectively meet student needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Special Education (Masters preferred).

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required.

• Experience with Wilson Reading and/or 6-Minute Solutions strongly preferred.

• Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation.

• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
