Senior Design Engineer - Mechanisms.

Michigan - Full Time.

My client is looking for a Mechanism Design Engineer to contribute to a high-profile project with a multi-billion-dollar OEM. As a Mechanism Design Engineer you will play a crucial role in developing Closure Mechanisms & BIW Systems ensuring they are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meet safety standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible to lead the design and development of weight efficient Mechanism and Closure designs to deliver the highest level of performance in NVH, durability, and crash performance from a blank page through to production.
Develop a testing plan to prove out design concepts and conduct physical testing to confirm the design meets performance targets.
Create and develop designs that are optimized for performance, weight, durability, and cost.

Qualifications

5+ years of accumulated experience in vehicle body engineering
Strong experience with CatiaV5, including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies
Comprehensive understanding of system analysis, system interface, and integration knowledge and experience.
Own, drive, and confirm your designs’ performance with help from CAE, manufacturing, and suppliers, fast paced hardware engineering department.
Bachelors in engineering (minimum) with master's degree Preferred.
