Senior Cybersecurity Architect
Location: Honolulu, HI (Remote work may be considered)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM HST (hours may vary)
About the Role Bishop & Company is seeking a
Senior Cybersecurity Architect to join our client’s Cybersecurity Architecture & Operations Department. This collaborative, detail-oriented leader will play a critical role in shaping and integrating security controls across a hybrid environment—including on-premise infrastructure and cloud platforms (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).
The Senior Cybersecurity Architect will partner with technical teams and business leaders to design and implement secure business solutions, ensuring seamless integration with the client’s technology stack. This position is also responsible for defining and executing the client’s strategy for secure cloud service delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the strategic development and integration of cybersecurity controls across hybrid environments.
- Collaborate with technical and business unit leaders to design secure solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Define and execute strategies for secure cloud services delivery.
- Support the Security Architecture & Operations team in implementing enterprise-wide security initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise in cloud, network, and infrastructure security.
- Stay ahead of emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and mitigation techniques.
Qualifications - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications (preferred): Cloud security certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure), SSCP, Security+, GSEC, MCSE, CISSP, CCNP, CCSP, or other relevant cybersecurity credentials.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years with AWS.
- 5+ years in IT infrastructure architecture (cloud, routing, switching, WAN/LAN, virtualization, systems engineering, scripting).
- 5+ years in security engineering and architecture.
- Proven track record designing and engineering complex IT infrastructure solutions.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise with cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of WAN/cloud networks.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration.
- Hands-on experience with security devices and infrastructure, including SIEM systems, firewalls, WAFs, IDS, anti-malware, file integrity systems, DDoS mitigation, and IP reputation management.
- Deep understanding of current cybersecurity threats, malware variants, and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of web attack vectors (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, session hijacking).
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Availability to work after hours (nights, weekends, holidays) as needed.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $114K-$146K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
