Job Description

As a Security Officer - Corrections Patrol Roving in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.

As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a correctional location, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents and create a secure environment for staff and visitors. Your role will include conducting regular patrols, observing access points, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the corrections location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity, security-related hazards, or unusual occurrences within the corrections environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or other personnel as needed.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials, and/or assisting with visitor management procedures.
• Support emergency response activities in accordance with established protocols for the location.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs and/or reports of all patrols, observations, and security-related incidents.

• A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
• Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
