The Position

Arrowhead is seeking a scientist/senior scientist to join our Discovery Chemistry group. The candidate will be a key member of drug discovery teams and may have opportunity to lead drug discovery programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and synthesize novel compounds for biological testing, and/or develop conditions for the preparation and isolation/purification of novel investigational compounds.
• Characterization and identification of compounds using modern analytical methods including HPLC, LCMS and NMR.
• Present research findings to project teams and governance bodies and prepare technical reports
• Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab
• Leads scientific projects
• Determines and executes research scope, strategies and timelines for project delivery

Requirements

• PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry with 0-8 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
• Advanced chemistry/biochemistry/biotechnology knowledge with proven track of records of scientific contributions (papers, patents)
• Hands on experience in independently planning and executing synthesis of complex organic molecules
• Ability to grow and independently deepen scientific knowledge
• Comfortable working on complex assignments and new areas of work

Preferred

• Experience working with macromolecules or drug delivery

Wisconsin pay range

$105,000—$120,000 USD
