REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF SALES

Sunridge Hotel Group is seeking a high-performing Regional Director of Sales for our Colorado hotels. Current hotels in this region are Residence Inn by Marriott, Vail and Courtyard by Marriott, Westminster. Proper candidate will be innovative, motivated & self-driven with a proven sales background in the hospitality industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Work directly with Corporate Director of Sales and Revenue Manager on pricing, strategy, and execution of groups that have more than 10 sleeping rooms per night.
  • Work directly with Corporate Director of Sales and Revenue Manager on pricing, strategy, and execution of corporate business travel negotiations.
  • Generate revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations for hotel(s) through reactive and proactive sales efforts.
  • Create a quarterly sales strategy to generate new business,and penetrate/saturate current accounts.
  • Ensure business booked is within the hotel's goals. Close the best business for the property based on market conditions and needs dates.
  • Drive customer loyalty through understanding their needs and recommending appropriate features and services that best meet their needs.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
  • Network inside the community to create lasting and beneficial relationships with entities such as local business leaders, chamber of commerce, CVB and city offices.
  • Responsible for maintaining a monthly sales goal through a mixture of Proactive Sales Calls, Maintenance Calls, Email Prospecting, Cold Calls and Teleprospecting Calls
  • Outside calls are a large focus with off property visits to account decision makers encouraged.
  • Record sales efforts in CRM database (Event Temple): achieve monthly sales goal, managing sales funnel opportunities, setting trace/follow up systems to actively manage accounts, and tracking quarterly account action plans
  • Maintain a dynamic and current Flatlist consisting of target accounts in all segments of deployment including group, corporate business travel, wholesale/FIT, tour, and meeting space.
  • Plan and execute effective Sales Blitz and/or Customer Events.
  • Contact prospective companies for groups and corporate business in the market.
  • Follow up on opportunities uncovered by business development.
  • Understand the overall competitors - strengths and weaknesses, rate structures, sales team structure and deployment, special corporate and group base, room inventory, renovation/room remodel standards, and how to sell against them.
  • Generate proposals & formulate rate agreement/group contracts, and corporate business travel agreements. RFP's should be responded to within 24 hours if possible.
  • Upsell meeting space and food and beverage if groups have the need.
  • Maintain electronic & hard copy files for groups, meeting and negotiated accounts.
  • Collect and input rooming lists, or other reservations & provide front desk with group resumes
  • Input group pick-up on a weekly basis and alert groups to pick-up status and upcoming cut-off dates.
  • Present sales, revenue & forecasting reports to the management team.
  • Participate in weekly revenue calls and implement resulting sales strategies as appropriate.
  • Participate in weekly calls with Corporate Director of Sales to discuss sales efforts, receive training and support and generate new leads.
  • Review guest ledgers to identify guests whose companies have the potential to receive negotiated rates.
  • Schedule the use of meeting space and upsell audio/visual and catering items.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to maintain the meeting room, including the performance of catering functions, clean-up, set-up and tear-down.
  • Facilitate a weekly meeting with the operations team(s) and General Manager to communicate billing instructions, rate breakdowns, commission reports, room blocking information, and group special requests as well as upcoming groups, meeting room bookings, and coordinate efforts for corporate business accounts to ensure each client(s) needs are met to the highest standard.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders within accounts
  • Responsible for all negotiation, contracting groups, meeting room bookings, and corporate travel accounts
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This role requires a minimum of 25% travel to hotel(s) and will be required to visit each remote property a minimum of twice per quarter, with preference being once per month
  • Minimum of 4 years of hotel sales experience preferred including multiple property sales experience
SKILLS
  • BS degree in business administration, hospitality management and/or experience preferred
  • Ability to maneuver through PMS and reservation systems.
  • Familiarity with CRMs and hotel sales systems, specifically Marriott, & Hilton
