Salary: $15.00 Hourly Location : Junction City Police Department Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 202400015 Department: Police Department Opening Date: 10/24/2024 FLSA: Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit: N/A Description Under basic supervision, assists in daily processes of the Records Department staff, responds to Junction City Police Department (JCPD) report requests, enters data into secure computer databases, performs research and provides information within scope of authority, files police reports in proper numerical order, and performs other duties as assigned. Examples of Duties Acts in accordance with the JCPD General Orders as well as the City of Junction City Personnel Policies/Guidelines Handles monies received and disbursed Responds to background checks and records checks for law enforcement agencies Performs records checks and drivers' license checks on subjects applying for City licenses Assembles and files hard copy case folders Responds to records requests from the private sector as well as the general public Cross-trains in all aspects of the Records Department Ensures that record keeping is compliant with State and Federal guidelines Assists in answering inbound, non-emergent phone calls Assists individuals that come into the Police Department Scans supporting documents into digital case files Additional tasks as assigned Primary Goals and Objectives: Assists in the daily operations of the Records Department efficiently and effectively Typical Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute with minimal errors Minimum of one-year experience in a customer service setting Proficiency in the use of personal computers and other office equipment Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the general public Basic mathematical and data entry skills Supplemental Information Physical Demands (put an * next to essential functions) Eyesight corrected to 20/20* Manual dexterity Required to sit for extended periods of time* Able to stoop, bend, reach, lift, or kneel in limited space Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds No substantial hearing loss* Reasonable accommodations may be made to this position We offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees including health care, dental, vision, retirement, deferred compensation plans, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, short-term disability, holidays, and paid time off.
