Job Description

Part-Time Psychology Research Associate I The developmental intelligence lab, directed by Prof. Chen Yu, is seeking a Research Associate to help coordinate studies within the lab. The primary research of the lab focuses on using state-of-the-art sensing and computing techniques to understand the sensorimotor and cognitive processes that support early learning and development. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, this person will work on federally funded research. Lab studies include collecting multimodal behavioral data (e.g., eye tracking, motion tracking, video, and audio data) from naturalistic environments and conducting well-controlled experimental studies in the lab. The Research Associate will act as lab coordinator and work closely with the PI and lab group to coordinate day-to-day lab operations. This is a fixed-term, hourly position for up to 19 hours/week. The ideal candidate would be able to make a two-year commitment. Responsibilities Collecting data through behavioral experiments Managing, coding, and analyzing video data Coordinating, training, and working with undergraduate research assistants Recruiting and scheduling infants and young children Assisting with new experimental setups Required Qualifications BA or BS in psychology, cognitive science, or related field Experience working with infants and young children Excellent interpersonal skills Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills in a collaborative research environment Interest in development and learning Preferred Qualifications A two-year commitment is preferred.
