Manual Machinist / Machine Operator For immediate response call or send resume ASAP Contract Recruiter: Frank Galante (w) 732-279-2502 (email) frank.galante@cloudrayinc.com TEMP TO HIRE DRUG SCREENING AND BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED Position Overview This position is labor intensive and requires the manual operation of various equipment in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to lathes. The position is hot, dirty, and noisy. It requires attention to safety training and practices. This is a non-CNC position. Essential Job Functions Must have strong organizational skills and maintain a clean workspace. Strong communication skills are needed to interact with coworkers. Apply general knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures. Working on a manual lathe or grinder. Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or worktables. Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare for further finishing. Measure and mark equipment, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met. Remove completed work pieces from equipment or worktables and place them in containers. Select abrasives according to materials, size/shape of pieces, amount removed, finishes, etc. Study blueprints to determine how to Client out work pieces or saw out templates. Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, or testing in working machinery. Record product and processing data on specified forms Repair and maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools. Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices. Must be able to work with various metal particulates such as nickel, cobalt, iron, and Tungsten Carbide. Must be able to perform duties as assigned by your supervisor. Follow all company policies including safety instructions and training. Requirements Must be able to lift loads of at least 50lbs at a time. Must be able to be on their feet for at least 8 hrs. daily. Strong knowledge of use and operation of measuring tools, particularly micrometers Job requires employee to complete respiratory safety testing and training. Job requires employee to complete hearing conservation testing and training. Must be able to work in hot and humid temperatures for up to 8 hours a day. 3 or more years' previous Manual Machinist experience. Strong mechanical skills preferred. TIG welding experience a plus Education: High school or equivalent Other Skills/Abilities Must be a Team Player. Related technical training. Basic math skills needed to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Experience: Manual Machinist: Minimum 3 years Lathe: Minimum 2 years Reading blueprints: Minimum 2 years Micrometer: Minimum 2 years Expected hours: 40 per week 1st Shift 2nd Shift Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour - DOE STEEL TOE BOOTS REQUIRED APPLY TODAY!
