RTI International is seeking part-time interviewers on the Add Health Parent Study (AHPS) , a Biosocial Resource for the Study of Multigenerational Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Alzheimers Disease-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD).

AHPS is a research study conducted by the Carolina Population Center (CPC) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under a grant from the National Institute on Aging (NIA). AHPS will attempt to locate and interview the parents of a sample of Add Health respondents who were adolescents in 1995 some of whom were interviewed for the first phase of AHPS, conducted 2015- 2018, and some of whom have not participated since 1995. The AHPS parents are now between 58-90 years old.

AHPS is an ongoing study of social, behavioral, and biological factors influencing healthy aging and the development of AD/ADRD in a national sample of adults currently aged 58-90. Significant knowledge gaps exist regarding intergenerational dimensions of cognitive aging and risk for AD/ADRD, and how these processes differ across race and ethnic groups. Phase 2 of this study will address these gaps.

Combined data from AHPS Phases 1 and 2 will be linked with rich longitudinal data on original Add Health respondents to create and disseminate the first nationally representative multigenerational biosocial resource with cognitive, genomic, behavioral, and social data for the study of racial/ethnic disparities in cognitive aging and AD/ADRD risk.

Additional information about this study can be found at the project website:
