T&M is seeking a part-time Forensic Accountant for our Corporate Office located in mid-town Manhattan.
Job Responsibilities - Assist in compiling and analyzing documents and data
- Participate in site visits and interviews
- Perform reviews and testing of financial and operational data to support our investigative, consulting, and monitoring projects
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with clients and internally within the organization
- Work with a multi-disciplined team including attorneys, investigators, and research analysts
- Assist in the drafting of reports and preparing necessary tables, exhibits and charts
- Travel on occasion
- Testify to findings
Minimum Qualifications - Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills
- The ability to function as an integral part of an investigative team and work in a group setting
- Knowledge of fundamental computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Proficiency with presentation software including Microsoft PowerPoint
- The ability to review financial records and advise or assist in the investigation of alleged fraud
- Designation as a Certified Fraud Examiner and/or CPA preferred but not required
Education And Experience - Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics with a minimum of two (2) years of post-graduate experience in conducting forensic audits and/or financial fraud/irregularity investigations
- Strong analytical skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of data
- Experience working with government agencies is a plus
- Strong knowledge and foundation in the principles of accounting, including: (i) ability to research accounting guidance and pronouncements, (ii) ability to understand financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow) and how each statement connects and relate to disclosure, (iii) ability to analyze historical financial statements and records and corporate and transactional agreements
