As the Product leader for Communication , you'll define the future of Communication in 3D spaces, in environments that help people connect and co-experience together, not just passively interact. In this role you will be responsible for all mediums of communication like text, voice, avatar communication, and co-experiencing across the Roblox Platform.

Roblox is well positioned to build the standards for accessing, navigating, communicating, and interacting within the metaverse, supporting everything users can do on Roblox: communicate, play, learn, work, etc.

The role reports to the VP of Product, Social and is based in San Mateo, CA (hybrid with Tues-Thurs onsite).

You Will:

• Define multi year vision & strategy for Communication products - across all mediums of communication.
• Define scalability of real time communication features like voice chat, immersive avatar chat for hundreds of millions to users.
• Drive the exploration, invention, research, and development of how users will express themselves in the metaverse.
• Define world leading safety standards for communication products for all ages.
• Develop a well-rounded platform to support multiple communication and community use cases.
• Lead a cross organizational team to execute.
• Work with groups and leaders across Roblox to ensure delightful Communication products across all Roblox surfaces - phones, tablets, desktop, consoles and VR.
• Define and unlock new use cases for all ages that haven't even been discovered yet.
• Help invent the future!

You Are:

• Experienced. You have 10+ years of Product Management experience shipping high quality, delightful consumer apps across multiple platforms, especially pushing the envelope of Social products.
• A Strategic Thought Leader with strong experience in rapid prototyping, design ideation, and driving cross-functional teams to invent creative user interfaces.
• Creative! Imagine and invent use cases and product applications that have not been built before.
• A Risk Taker! You are not afraid to make bold bets and dont shy away from changing how the world works.
• Organized and driven. Creating new ways for users to interact with Roblox requires juggling many technical, product, and policy requirements across many teams, features, and device platforms. You have to lead the team over the roadblocks that inevitably come.
• Inspirational. You lead and empower cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects. You convey through written, visual, and verbal communication, always aligning to the future vision of where the idea could lead us.
• A Structured Problem Solver. You can drive the right decisions through organized, analytical, logical thinking, balancing product vision and company priorities.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with competing resources and priorities, through the product life cycle from planning, development, through launch.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on .

Annual Salary Range

$375,590 $430,650 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
