Directional Drill Operator/Locator Foreman

Responsibilities : As a Directional Drill Operator/Locator Foreman , you are responsible for operating horizontal/directional drill rigs, locating equipment, and product support equipment. Your duties will include:

• Operating Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable.
• Ensuring the safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.
• Performing all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and using appropriate safety equipment.
• Setting up and cleaning up work sites, including traffic and pedestrian control.
• Reading utility locates and coordinating day lighting of these facilities.
• Ensuring all applicable permits and locates are complete and on-site.
• Inspecting the work that is in progress to ensure that the workmanship conforms to specifications.
• Operating construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
• Leveling earth to final grade specifications.
• Operating vehicles and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified.
• Performing proper maintenance by greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs on equipment.
• Leading teams in the field effectively as needed and directed by supervisor.

• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work.
• You are looking for long term projects.
• You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team.
• You have 3 years of Horizontal Directional Drill experience.
• You have a Valid drivers license.
• You must obtain a CDL class a drivers license within 30 days of employment.
• Experienced with different size Vermeer or Ditch Witch units and various brands of locating equipment.
• Working experience in underground construction and Fiber builds.
• City, County, and State clearance code knowledge and related.
• You can read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build process.
• You are willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and work overtime as required.
