About the Role

As a Crop Insurance Claims Adjuster, you will play a vital role in delivering prompt and precise claims service to our policyholders and agents. You will handle multi-peril crop insurance (MPCI) and crop hail claims by conducting field inspections, cooperating with involved parties, performing thorough investigations, determining appropriate adjustments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the Field Claims Manager to optimize claims operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and track losses and claims in your defined territory to support efficient customer service and resolution.
• Document, process, and transmit loss information effectively to assess potential damages for complex claims.
• Support quality control audits for Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC and Crop Hail) and provide overflow support to the Compliance Department.
• Conduct field inspections and adjustments by interpreting maps, measuring fields and storage bins, and ensuring compliance with crop insurance policies.
• Communicate effectively and promptly with agencies regarding claim status and inquiries.
• Build strong relationships with customers by providing accurate policy services and clear communication regarding claims adjustments.
• Mentor and coach team members, guiding them to meet service expectations.
• Offer valuable feedback on agent business quality to enhance profitability and service quality.
• Deliver training sessions on claims technology applications and crop programs to align educational resources with client needs.
• Participate in internal committees to develop innovative global claims technology solutions.
• Attend regional and state committee meetings to stay informed about legal issues affecting the business.
• Foster a positive work environment by promoting cultural values and encouraging performance, accountability, diversity, and collaboration.

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills and Competencies

• Ability to evaluate project outcomes and analyze both current and future states.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Logical approach to handling complex claims.
• Provide clear instructions for claims procedures and company policies.
• Support the implementation of company strategies.
• High attention to detail with critical thinking capabilities.
• Ability to train others on processes and procedures.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Preferred Experience

At least 5 years of experience handling MPCI and Crop Hail claims.

Preferred Certifications

Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPPP) as required by state regulations.

Preferred Knowledge

• Familiarity with claims administration best practices and procedures.
• Understanding local, state, and industry standards (NCIS).
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general database systems.

US Only - Travel Frequency

Frequent travel is expected, approximately 10+ trips annually.

This role requires fieldwork, balanced between office settings and outdoor environments, which may expose you to adverse weather conditions. You must be able to operate standard office equipment, remain stationary for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as walking on uneven ground, climbing, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Compensation

Base pay offered varies based on education, experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs. The annual salary range is as follows:

• $68,000 - $102,000 for certain states.
• $75,000 - $112,000 for selected remote locations.
• $85,000 - $128,000 for specific areas.
