Job Title Addiction Science Research Analyst Employer University of Missouri-Saint Louis Overview The Addiction Science team at UMSL-Missouri Institute of Mental Health (UMSL-MIMH) advances high‑quality, low‑barrier overdose prevention, community health, and substance use treatment and recovery services through state, federal, and foundation funded initiatives across Missouri and nationwide. The team works to develop, implement, and rigorously evaluate overdose prevention and substance use programming, providing life‑saving supplies, innovative training, and research to guide evidence‑based policies. Key Responsibilities Support research and program evaluation initiatives related to substance use treatment and recovery programming in Missouri. Coordinate data collection, monitoring, and reporting on State Opioid Response (SOR) outcomes and key metrics. Conduct descriptive and inferential analyses of treatment outcomes and program implementation data to identify patterns and emerging trends. Develop and disseminate reports and data visualizations to treatment and recovery providers, the Department of Mental Health, and the broader public. Assist with developing surveys and other data collection tools based on implementation science frameworks. Manage data sharing relationships with Medical Examiner offices in Missouri to track overdose death trends. Contribute to the submission of manuscripts, conference presentations, and grant applications. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. Authorization to work in the United States; the University will not sponsor employment visas. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, psychological sciences, public health, health policy & management, criminal justice, or a related field. At least 2 years of work experience with data analysis and visualization, project management, and related research activities. Familiarity with analytical software (SAS, SPSS, Stata, ATLAS.ti) or programming languages (R, Python). Experience working for or collaborating with government, nonprofit, or other community‑based organizations. Work Arrangement Hybrid: in‑person and remote work expected, with 2‑3 in‑office days per week. Compensation Salary Range: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year. Grade: GGS 009.
